Customs clearing at Nimule border
Fast, documented clearance for cargo crossing between Elegu in Uganda and Nimule in South Sudan.
Nimule and Elegu: the southern gateway
Nimule sits on South Sudan's southern border with Uganda, and Elegu is the matching border post on the Ugandan side. Road cargo travelling from Uganda toward Juba and the rest of South Sudan, including goods that arrived through the Kenyan and Tanzanian ports, crosses here, which makes it a major entry point for imports.
How FrontierGate clears cargo at Nimule
- Send documents before departure. We review them early and flag any gaps before your truck reaches the border.
- We lodge the declaration with SSRA, applying the correct HS code classification and valuation.
- Duties and taxes are assessed and paid on your behalf, with full accounting afterwards.
- We coordinate inspection with SSRA at the border, whether physical or by scanner.
- Cleared cargo is released and forwarded to its final destination within South Sudan or onward in transit.
Our clearance commitment
We commit to clearing and releasing a truck within a maximum of 2 days once your documents are complete and correct.
Duty and processing advances
Where agreed in advance, FrontierGate can advance part of the import duty and the per-truck processing charges for clients who do not have cash on hand at the border, and reclaim the amount afterwards. Terms are agreed before the cargo moves.
Working with SSRA and border agencies
FrontierGate has an established working relationship with SSRA and other government agencies at the border, so inspection and release are coordinated directly rather than chased.
